Gamma Sigma Set to Host HBCU Youth Leadership Conference on campus of ASU
Cultivating Productive Citizens and Future Fathers - Free Youth Leadership Conference
"Cultivating productive citizens and future fathers" is the call to action at the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and Project Friendship, Inc., Fatherhood Initiative and Mentoring Youth Leadership Conference. The free conference will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 on the campus of Alabama State University (Abernathy Building) from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Changing the narrative dialogue with male youth, sixth (6 th ) through twelfth (12 th ) grades will educate and inspire young men to excel in their daily lives, at school and in the community. Family advocate experts, judicial, education and social service professionals will host single mother and non-resident father sessions, empowering parents with life skill tools that aid families to overcome the challenges of raising their sons.
Learn about youth relations with law enforcement; Manhood 101, combating single parent challenges, both parent matters; legitimation, single parent rights, being responsible citizens; 24-hour Dad and other topics will lay foundations for parental and youth growth.
