Gamma Sigma Brother David Whitlow Elected SGA President 2019-20

ΓΣ '18 initiate Bro. David Whitlow was elected Alabama State University's Student Government Association President at noon on Wednesday, April 10th, 2019. Voting took place April 8th-9th in the John Garrick Hardy Student Center on Alabama State University's campus.

The SGA President serves as the spokesperson for the Student Government Association and Student Body. To name a few of his lofty responsibilities, he shall have the duty and authority to take action on behalf of the SGA Senate in emergency situations, and also preside over all meetings of the SGA Cabinet.

Bro. Whitlow had this to say about his recent election:

"It has been a journey! I started my journey in 2015 as a student-athlete and never thought I would be blessed enough to serve as the Student Body President! It is with great honor that I accept this roll with all humbleness in my heart and will strive to make our campus even better than it already is. As I follow in the footsteps of my fellow SGA Presidential legends, I look to learn from each and every one of them taking the good and the bad all while blazing my own trail of being a legendary leader. I thank God, my parents, and most importantly Alabama State University for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to lead our university!"
